Producing milling quality oats across Western Canada’s diverse geography and extreme weather conditions can be challenging. Can-Oat understands this and has located our mills strategically across the region to have the most direct contact we can with those that can produce the best quality of oats in the world. “Quality In – Quality Throughout” is our adage when it comes to the importance of raw material. We believe it is vitally important to understand the balance between grower profitability, milling characteristics, and end use customer value to ensure a healthy value chain for oats. Can-Oat continues to support growers efforts by being a member of the Prairie Oat Growers Association. We contribute financially to variety development at the Prairie Oat Breeding Consortium in Winnipeg and the Crop Development Centre at Saskatoon as well as supporting other oat related research activities.
